It’s amazing to me how much Rex has matured during his time in game over at The Wake. Honestly, he’s more responsible in Nautilus than he is by the end of season 3. He’s just been through so much…
Though I had to laugh at some recent stuff going on. He and Caesar took a trip back to their own world to observe what it was that made Caesar change between seasons 2 and 3. Rex is further ahead in the timeline (just post “Mind Games”), while Caesar is still back in season 2. Using his Ascended abilities, Rex was able to provide Caesar with an out of body experience in their own world so they could jump through the timeline and simply watch events as invisible observers. This really took it out of Rex, though, so he was exhausted by the time they got back to Nautilus.
Caesar’s overall distress and denial over some of the things he does early in season 3 also accidentally got both him and Rex dumped into the moat just after arrival. (In Nautilus, if you’re deep in denial? You’ll get dumped into the city’s version of The Nile.) By that point, even after drying off, Rex was too tired to walk on his own. Fortunately, their return was broadcasted over the city network and several people responded to check up on them. Caesar also called in two of those people to help Rex get back to Doctor Holiday’s house… Clover from Totally Spies and Korra from (of course) Legend of Korra.
So I just can’t help but LOL over the idea of Rex being helped along, one cute girl on either side of him. (This is also why I need a Noah Nixon over there, dammit. He’d probably be somewhat baffled by things like this, haha.) What’s even funnier is that Rex isn’t interested in dating either of them right now, even though Clover initially tried to flirt with him when they first met months ago. Rex still had a girlfriend at that point, though he lost her to Sleep not even a week later. He’s since had a chance to cope some with the loss, but still doesn’t feel like he’s ready to move on at all.
Meanwhile he’s developed close ties with Clover on a platonic level, at least, watching soap operas and telenovelas with her. He’s also going to be working with Korra on her bending training.
This really is one of those things where I don’t know what’s going to happen, if he’ll eventually want to date either girl or if he ends up deciding they’re more friends/sisters to him. But again…this is one of the ways he’s really matured, something I’m actually pretty proud of.
I’ve marathoned Generator Rex for two days now, and I realize something…
This is like the most underrated show i’ve ever watched! Seriously, it’s boosted my love for sci-fi. I love the comedy, the action and everything else. I wonder why no one really talks about it outside of tumblr, there’s like no reviews for the show on Youtube or anything. It pretty much has a cult following, or at least I would say so.
Anyone over the age of 15 like this show besides me?
Yep. Thirty-four and definitely a fan. :3
Watching the first episode of Generator Rex again right now. Rex is all like “I’m Providence’s Secret Weapon. So secret that they have to keep me locked up.”
Then he busts out of his helicarrier to go punch-out a godzilla monster in the middle of a heavily populated area in front of countless reporters. As far as introductions go I guess that really just says everything you’ll ever need to know about our little Rex.
Actually, more than that, you gotta remember that he grows up as the series progresses. This exact moment is mirrored in the last scene of the finale, and instead of bursting out at the wrong time and causing collateral damage, he waits for Six and they go out together with a plan. :3

In an episode of The Tick, the big blue guy was once asked if he had the power to destroy the Earth. His response? ”Gosh, I hope not! That’s where I keep all my stuff!”
Needless to say, when Argit said almost the same thing in the last ep of Omniverse, we had to back that up and play it again because we started laughing and missed the dialog that came after.
No way that wasn’t a reference to The Tick.
It would also explain Alien X’s overly large chin…because he was seriously lookin’ Sentinel Prime / Tick-ish there. LMAO.
