Banner submissions for regenrex.com are starting to come in and I’m really loving these already. Given how cool some of these look and if we get more like them, it might be really hard to only choose five or so for the site. This is definitely a good thing, though! It means people are putting effort into these and it shows. Much thanks to everyone who’s participating, helping to spread the word, etc! <3
As of right now, I’m also giving some serious consideration to creating something of a fan gallery as part of the site, possibly to house the banners that don’t get voted in for header rotation. That way even if they don’t become a fully functional part of the site, they’d still be around in their own area for visitors to see and enjoy. This would also up the overall fan content of the site and help make it feel like a larger group effort.
And speaking of group efforts, we’re probably going to kick off our first letter writing campaign sometime later this week with a prompt. Think of it like a fan fic prompt, except more for a short essay in the form of a letter. Just a little something to help with inspiration!
Or are people even using that anymore? ”Haterade”? I dunno. I’m “old” relative to a lot of the people I hang with in fandom and only half with it, I have no idea. XD;
Anyway.
While I am making this post due to something that happened very recently, it’s one I’ve been meaning to make for a while just based on too much bad behavior in fandom…not that bad behavior in fandom is anything new. I really don’t understand why some people can’t just live and let live with some things. ”You like this show I don’t like, clearly you’re an idiot!” ”Show A was really great, but Show B is terrible!” ”This new version of the show is different than the old version, but even though I haven’t seen a single episode it’s totally gonna suck!”
freefiona reblogged your post: ATTENTION GUINEA PIG PEOPLE OF TUMBLR

don’t use flea powder. sometimes vets are dumbasses. check guinea pig lynx!!
I looked and I’ve seen ivermectin recommended on the site. I guess it’s an injection…
Tiny, light colored pests is what your baby has, I’m guessing? I’ve had a few guinea pigs in the past who’ve managed to pick up lice one way or another. Ivermectin was prescribed for all mine that got lice. It’s been a while, but if I recall correctly, it was given to me in a tiny bottle to be administered once a week for four weeks, orally, in a very small dose through a plastic syringe (with no needle, of course). Ivermectin was actually developed for cattle, so it only takes a drop or so to be effective for a small, roughly two pound animal.
You might be able to find ivermectin at places where cattle supplies are sold, but then you’d need to work out the dosage on your own. My suggestion? Find a local vet that treats exotics (yes, for some reason guinea pigs count as exotics). Call around to various offices, ask questions until you locate a vet that has a good deal of experience with guinea pigs. If they know their stuff and prescribe the ivermectin, they’ll calculate the dose for you and make things a whole lot easier. (As for cost, the office visit might cost you a bit, as they usually do, but such a tiny amount of ivermectin isn’t going to be that expensive at all.)
I think ivermectin can also be given topically, but that I have no experience with.
I got myself a tumblr.

… Oh, crap.
OH HI.
Hey, Wake stalkers. Guess who? It’s Caesar-mun, my IC “big bro.” B)
Somewhat. We have no official affiliation with any of the Generator Rex groups on DA (yet), but I personally have posted a journal entry to one of the larger communities and plan to leave comments to alert some of the others. It was the plan to start putting the word out ahead of time, though making contact, spreading the word and joining forces with anyone will be easier once the main site is active. (And it won’t be much longer until that happens. Hell or high water, it will be up by this weekend. I’ve just spent the last few hours putting together graphics for it.)
2012 Emmy Nomination Ballot for Outstanding Animated Program. (PDF, ballots can be found here on the Emmy site itself. My thanks to Fill Marc for pointing this out!).
There are a number of shows on the ballot I didn’t expect to see and even though it didn’t get nominated to continue on, nice to see that “Heroes United” was put up to be considered.
I know the crossover did do well ratings-wise and out of all the Generator Rex eps on iTunes, it’s one of the top sellers. Part of me wonders if it’s because Ben 10 is involved, but at the same time, HU was the only GR episode that CN really bothered to advertise (beyond what was done the first couple of months after GR first aired). I still think the show would have done better if they’d advertised it (and the toys) more than they did. Plus, in a way, it stings it a bit to know that the folks at CN thought enough of HU to submit it for a nomination, yet aren’t finishing out GR on the air.
But still cool that it was submitted. HU is one of my favorite parts of season 3 and it deserved the consideration at least.
Haven’t been posting or reblogging all that much and I’ve meant to get a lot more done than I have (especially with a certain fan project), but the last five days have been rather stressful and busy. Work’s still rough, but the main thing’s been that my fiance’s in the hospital. (No one freak, it’s not a huge life threatening thing. It was a planned but necessary surgery.) Hopefully he’ll be released later today, though, and once he’s home and settled for recovery, life can start sliding back in the direction of semi-normalcy again. As is, things are going a lot more smoothly this time than the last time he had surgery, so we’re both very thankful for that and hopeful that recovery time will be relatively short.
Wow, if you don’t look in the right place, you won’t find it.
The Motorcity listing for Zune is under TV > Networks. But NOT if you look via xboxlive.com or if you’re using Zune software to handle downloads on your own computer (which is what I’ve been doing ever since I started using Zune several months ago and I’ve not had an issue like this until now). You have to go through zune.com otherwise the Disney networks and all their listings are not there.

DAMMIT ZUNE. Argh. Is there a reason for this or what?
But least the problem’s solved. X|
