This Sunday will mark five years since the passing of Mike Wieringo.

Man, I hope you knew Mike, because he really was the best guy. I swear to God, that dude was so nice to me I don’t think I’ll ever finish paying it forward.

Remember ‘Ringo.

I was lucky enough to get to know him (though only online corresponding, nothing like meeting up and hanging out or anything) before he passed… he was an awesome dude and friendly and great to his fans (cos I was totally fanboying all over him and he was cool with it) and really, just an awesome talent… I still miss him…

His work will always be an inspiration to me.

Got to see both him and Todd Dezago briefly more than a decade ago at San Diego Comic Con.  Was introduced to their work through Tellos.  I love that series and I still have all the issues.  Mike Wieringo was and always will be one of my art heroes.
